SNOW!!!!

I experienced my first blizzard yesterday. It was also my first "real" snow day! I have had work and school cancelled before in TX. It was always because of 1 centimeter of snow. Yesterday, it blizzarded (is that a word?) from about 3 in the morning till about 5 at night. All in all, we got about 1 and a half feet or so. It is all has all mostly melted already. Colorado is crazy. 25 degrees on day, 65 degrees the next. Yesterday was awesome though. We took the Jeep out for a little fun in the snow. The Jeep handled like a champ. We took Toby outside while it was still snowing and he did not want to go! He took one look at the snow and turned around to go back in the house. We had to drag him out in the snow to "do his business". He finally did, but it took some sinking up to his ears and slipping on ice. Needless to say, snow is not his favorite thing. Maybe it is the fact that he has no hair to keep him warm or that the snow is taller than him. Guess he will have to get used to it.
Jason and I got a chance to go down to Soccoro (south of Albuquerque, NM) last weekend. We need to sell the MR2 before it started getting snowy in Colo Spgs. (Guess we did that just in time!!) We left last Saturday morning for Albuquerque where the dealership is. It was snowing when we left and most of the way through Colorado. Once we got into NM it was bright and sunny. We got to the dealership around mid day and found out that since Dad was on the title, he had to be present to sell the car. So we left the car there and traveled the hour and a half more to Aunt Robin's house. She lives out in the country in a beautiful house. I hadn't seen her or my Uncle in years so it was nice to catch up with them. They had recently finished building their house which was also gorgeous. They have lots of pets too so Toby had a blast running wild and playing with his new friends. We had fun watching the cranes fly over to the bird sanctuary which we also visited on Sunday. We also spent some time star gazing. The stars are amazing out there, away from the city. You can see the Milky Way better than I have ever seen it. It was a very short trip, but we had a blast. We got home about 10 on Sunday night. Toby was exhausted. Well, thats about it for now. Stay tuned...

Another Quick One

Hmmmm, Seems like most things in my life have to be quick to compete with my work schedule right now. I am still working 6 days a week, 9:30 a.m. till 10 p.m. It is ok though. I figure as long as I work hard now, it will pay off in the end. We shall see. Mom and Dad were here in town last weekend. It was very nice to get to see them...eventhough it wasn't for very long. We went to Old Chicago (pizza and beer) and then met Jason for a quick game of bowling. Dad, Jason still swears he won! Guess we will have to have a rematch in New Mexico. The day after Mom and Dad left, it snowed. Not much, but any snow is still snow. None of it stuck, but I am still fascinated by snow. I guess coming from Texas where we hardly ever got any, I still get giddy at even the slightest snow. The weather here in Colorado Springs is so strange though. We will go from snow to 70 degrees the next day. Always changing, keeps it interesting. Having a Toby always helps though. Since I go out to walk him in the morning, at least I know how the weather is so I can dress accordingly. I am still working on selling the car (Spydey). Hopefully next weekend Jason and I will make the drive out to New Mexico to sell the car. Turns out the only dealership that will buy your car without you buying theirs is in every state but Colorado. So, that means road trip! We will be stopping by to see Mom and Dad, and Robin and Tom while we are down there. Should be fun. Well, not much else to report. The business is doing better. Still not what we want it to be, but a lot better than it was before. I am anxiously awaiting ski season and Thanksgiving. I can't wait to see the fam and Jason is so excited to get to spend a Thanksgiving with his "new family". He hasn't had a real family holiday in a long time. I am looking forward to getting to see Bryce since I have not seen him in a while. I am also looking forward to seeing the kids and the new house...as well as whoever might show up for the festivities. Well, I feel like I am rambling, I guess that is what a blog is for, but there is only so much I can ramble about.
